One the May 1, 2014 edition of
Tell
Somebody, guest Christine
Hines, consumer and civil justice counsel with
Public
Citizen, talked about how forced
arbitration, which denies the people their right to sue when
harmed, is spreading like a poison through industries that provide
products and services to consumers, and is increasingly being added
to corporate contracts with employees.
We filled out the show with an extended clip of 2004 Green Party presidential candidate David Cobb’s remarks in Kansas City on April 22 about the need to amend the US Constitution to overturn the legal fiction of ‘corporate personhood’ and the idea that money equals speech.
